Hours: A min of 20 to a max of 37.5 per week

We wish to recruit two-relief telephonists to fill the following vacancies at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

This post is guaranteed to be working a minimum of 20 hours per week, up to a maximum of 37.5 hours. This post will involve covering for other telephonists that will often require the post holders to work evenings / nights / weekends.

The post involves:-

• Taking calls from the public, patients and staff
• Monitoring alarms and where necessary ensuring an appropriate response
• Operating the Hospitals internal paging system
• Updating and collating information for On Call Rotas

You will have:

• A minimum of 12 months experience of working in a team, preferably within a Switchboard or Call Centre environment taking a high volume of calls.
• Good communication skills and the ability to manage high volumes of work.
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to work under limited supervision and to tight deadlines
• The ability to work flexibly to help cover Switchboards that operate 24/7 including some Public Holidays
